2020 BRIDAL TRENDS FROM NYBFW

Each April & October, the best & brightest designers descend upon New York City to showcase their latest collections for the coming season. Masterpieces created out of silks & tulles made the backdrop for the most swoon-worthy of bridal trends - floral appliqués & show-stopping sleeves to gowns embellished with pearls & even butterflies - all made this 2020 year our favorite of bridal fashion yet.

Butterflies

From the delicate gossamer wings of laster cut butterflies at the Lazaro show to the vivid patternings seen at Monique Lhuillier & the appliquéd kaleidoscope accenting Canadian designer Ines Di Santo's show, the runways of New York Bridal Fashion Weeks were aflutter with all forms of butterflies.

Representing endurance, hope & new life, our own 2020 Eternal Spring Collection drew inspiration from these ethereal creatures with butterflies appearing throughout our designs from our Issoria hairclip set our statement Aurelia hairband & the delicate Nienna & Valencia Earrings.

Statement Sleeves

Amidst booths filled with dreamy gowns & swoon-worthy dresses, we set our space against a backdrop of silk florals, gold accents & a trail of glittering butterflies.

Paired with an open neckline, oversized puffed sleeves created the perfect balance between ethereal elegance & modern romanticism.

HOW WE'D STYLE: We fell in love with the soft swept ponies seen at the Dany Tabet & Monique Lhuillier showing. We'd finish the look with a pair of delicate but statement earrings, playing off the fabric & detailing of the gown.

HOW WE'D STYLE: Playing off of the soft, milky blue shades seen throughout the runways, we'd keep the accessories color focused, pulling in complementary tones of blue with our Moonstone Collection of subtle statement earrings.

Party Pearls

Your Grandmothers pearls just got a serious style upgrade. Think delicate dots against sheer fabrics, as seen during Berta's Fall 2020 presentation & pearlized ponytails as seen during Dany Tabet's S/S 2020 Goddess Runway Show.

Berta, Fall 2020. Image via Pinterest. Dany Tabet, S/S 2020.

HOW WE'D STYLE: We had the pleasure of creating 10 customized looks for Dany's Spring/Summer 2020 Goddess inspired runway. Featuring 1,000 hand strung & knotted freshwater pearls within the models custom headbands; and plenty more pearls in their earrings & hairpieces we worked to create a look that was both ethereal & modern.

3-D Florals

From the pastel petals of Moniques Lhuillier to the cloud colored blossoms seen at Dany Tabet & Marchesa, 2020 is the season for texture & tulle. Think dream worthy gowns dotted with appliquéd flowers & multilayered blooms.

Top: Monique Lhuillier, Fall 2020. Image via Pinterest. Bottom: Dany Tabet, S/S 2020.

HOW WE'D STYLE: Structural, yet simple shapes complement the gowns existing floral detailing while adding an additional element of interest. For florals that can be worn long after the wedding day, we love incorporating our hand carved mother of pearl shell flowers & for a more modern look, our molded metal blooms of 18k Yellow Gold.

And that's a wrap! From butterflies to ballgowns, we can't wait to see these gorgeous trends in real life throughout the next year.

Statement Sleeves

A perfect counterpart to the many sleek silhouettes that came down the runways, ballgowns were back and as glorious as ever, but with a decided twist this season. It was the sleeves more than the skirts, that made a true statement.
